Dress up Your Office Bookshelves with Molding

When I started furnishing my home office, I picked up a wall’s worth of bookcases–they were $80 each at Office Depot, and they look it. White, sturdy stock bookcases that could use some dressing up.

My plan is to add paper to the back of each of them to bring some more color into the office, but then I got to thinking about how much prettier they’d look if I made them look built in, so I’ll be using this tutorial from DIY Living.

The current plan is to pick up some home office cabinets, and to position the bookcases to flank them to give the appearance of a built-in storage unit on one of the office walls. Not only will this give me a lot more storage, but it’ll also make the room a bit cozier–since the room is *huge*, a bit of cozying up is a must for the kind of personable and creative home office decor style I’m going for.
